Parker - 50 Falcon - Fountain pen

The Parker 50 Falcon was introduced in 1978 and its production ended in 1982, after a relatively short period, a good sign for collectors. The matte brown version, like this pen, had an even shorter production: it was introduced in 1981 and the Falcon did not appear in the 1982 catalog.
The pen is made of brass with a matte brown epoxy resin finish.
The familiar Parker “arrow” clip looks different: the nibs are not individually defined.
I find this feature quite unusual for a pen called "Falcon".
With a cartridge/converter filling system, it is a slim, elegant pen that resembles the other slim Parkers, until the cap is removed to reveal the revolutionary and unique single-piece nib section.
Only one other pen possessed this feature, the unfortunate and now extremely rare T1.
The T1 was made of titanium, a metal that proved too costly and difficult to mold efficiently into the complex shapes required by the design.
The Falcon is essentially a T1 updated, made in a material better suited for it.
The pen is in exceptional condition; it could very well be brand new.
It features a stunning finish and is free of dents or scratches.
The gilding is impeccable as well.
With a cartridge/converter filling system, the pen is equipped with the original Parker metal converter.
In addition to the brief production and relative rarity of the Parker 50 Falcon, its future as a collectible item is further strengthened by its unique and striking design.
