Italian artist Aldo Pievanini’s original oil painting Interno Rosso (1977), 50 × 70 cm, signed, with the original guarantee certificate on the back, depicting an interior scene with a dominant red background and a pink, black, blue and multicolour palette.
Description from the seller
Aldo Pievanini is the author of Interno Rosso, an oil on canvas measuring 50 x 70 cm, painted in 1977. The work is signed by the Italian artist and retains its original guarantee certificate on the back, which confirms its authenticity. Pievanini built a prestigious international career with around 50 solo and group exhibitions in key cities around the world. Among them, his successful show at Circle Gallery in New York in 1982 stands out, in addition to exhibitions in places as diverse as Rome or Baghdad. After spending several years in the film industry, he transferred that distinctive scenic sensibility to his canvases. In this painting, the title makes direct reference to the imposing red backdrop that dominates the scene. In front of this wall sits a stylized lady dressed in pink, her face hidden by a wide-brimmed hat, accompanied by a high chair and a cabinet with a static clock. The composition stands out for its intense chromatic contrast and for creating a silent, suspended-time atmosphere, very characteristic of the painter’s magical realism. Shipped well protected; good luck and a successful auction.
