Lucio Del Pezzo - Table lighter - Wood

A rarissimo and extraordinary table lamp-sculpture is up for auction, created by the renowned Italian artist Lucio Del Pezzo. A true masterpiece of pop art and geometric design, combining functionality with pure artistic expression.

The work consists of a cube made of black lacquered wood, on which a complex and vibrant screen print in no fewer than 20 colors has been applied,typical of Del Pezzo’s unmistakable style. On the top face is masterfully inset the metal mechanism of the lighter, which blends harmoniously with the cube’s geometries.

This is a piece of extraordinary collectible interest: it was produced in 1982 under the supervision of ARS D (Milan) in absolute exclusivity for Gilardini, in a very limited edition of only 500 pieces worldwide. The lot offered here is number 77/500, an intriguing “double number” that, for numerology enthusiasts, symbolizes wisdom, intuition, and great spiritual energy.

The object is presented in excellent condition, beautifully preserved. Dry-tested, the mechanism reliably produces a spark; it is gas-free to generate flame (an ideal and safe condition for carrier shipping regulations). It comes complete with its original packaging, consisting of the black logo-bearing Gilardini / Del Pezzo coded cube container. The essential original certificate of authenticity, numbered and printed with the artist’s signature, is also present.
