The Shape of Love No.2 explores the boundary between abstract art and figuration. At first glance, the work seems like an explosion of color, energy and movement. Only when the viewer looks longer does the hidden form slowly reveal itself.
The basis of this artwork is an authentic print of a real vagina, which is then digitally edited, converted into a 3D model, and incorporated as a relief in the artwork. Through this combination of modern technology and traditional handcraft, a subtle sculptural form emerges that is intentionally not immediately recognizable. The aim is to stimulate curiosity and invite the viewer to keep looking again and again.
After creating the 3D relief, the work is hand-finished with multiple layers of acrylic paint, expressive paint splatters, and a high-gloss protective layer. This creates a powerful interaction between light, relief and color.
The artwork is executed on a 33 × 33 cm canvas and presented in a black wooden box frame, giving the relief extra depth and a gallery-worthy appearance.
