Description from the seller
Marrakech Series
-Title: Koutoubia Twist
-Fine Art print 50x50, numbered, signed 1/15, in the format. Unframed print
-Certificate of Authenticity
This work offers a contemporary and singular vision of the Koutoubia Mosque, emblematic monument of Marrakech.
Created by direct superimposition at the moment of capture, without recourse to digital montage, it testifies to a rare technical mastery and a demanding artistic approach.
The image goes beyond mere representation to become a complex visual construction, where architecture, light and memory interweave.
Through its chromatic treatment dominated by deep blues and punctuated by warm lights, the work is situated within a contemporary aesthetic close to certain explorations related to Bauhaus and experimental photography.
Each print is produced in a limited edition, guaranteeing its rarity and value for collectors.
Passionate about photography from a very young age, Ben DAUCHEZ began in the neighborhood studios of La Rochelle. There he acquired the full set of basics of photography—from classic technique, shooting, and retouching to the lab. At 22, freshly graduated, he moved to Paris to perfect his training by becoming a set assistant for the Daguerre studios, Le Petit Oiseau va sortir, and Studio Zéro. He had the chance to collaborate with and assist some of the most talented photographers: Bettina RHEIMS, Patrick DEMARCHELIER, Terry RICHARDSON, Ellen VON UNWERTH, Marcus MAM... From certain decisive meetings arose beautiful projects and long collaborations, notably with André RAU, Bettina RHEIMS (the sultry exhibition INRI and its eponymous book at Editions Albin Michel) and Peter BEARD (Pirelli 2009 calendar in Botswana).
His photos have been published, among others, in Condé Nast Editions (French and international), Première, WallPaper, ID, Madame Figaro, Lifestyles, Dandy Magazine... His world also interests brands with very different identitarian codes for which he has led Institutional and/or advertising campaigns such as Dior (beauty), L'Oréal, Peugeot, Philip Morris, and Burger King (Advertising awarded at Dubai Lynx).
Ben DAUCHEZ has also created numerous portraits of celebrities (IGGY POP, Woody ALLEN, Grace JONES, Jean DUJARDIN, Gilles LELLOUCHE, Olivier MARCHAL, Carole BOUQUET, Charlotte GAINSBOURG, ...) of beauty, men of the world (Olivier DASSAULT, Jacques SEGUELA...) and travelers...
This photographic path has since allowed him to freely immortalize the human beauty, aesthetics, and spiritual essence of each personality.
