Circular mosaic of multicolored fragments, dynamically arranged with contrasts of matte and glossy surfaces, broken lines and flowing curves. Two bright, oval elements reflect the emotional core. An expressive work with gestural and material sensitivity, typical of Monguzzi.
This work is one of Monguzzi's rare mosaics, who is known for his informal painting.
Giuseppe Monguzzi (born 1939 in Lissone, near Milan) is an artist closely connected with his hometown. At 22 he was invited to the Premio Lissone, an award for young talents in experimental painting. Since then his continuous work has led to numerous exhibitions, including solo shows at the Museo d'arte contemporanea di Lissone in 1969 and 2008. Over 50 years of painting allow a look back at a path from initially representational to abstract and expressive, and it encompasses various work cycles. His artistic activity spanning more than 50 years has earned him numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Monguzzi's works can be found in many private collections, as well as in museums and public institutions.
