Dylan Dog acetates originals by Claudio Villa, two items, framed, in excellent condition, 30 x 43 cm.
Description from the seller
Dylan Dog No. 2 and No. 4 Original Acetates -New- with frame.
Purchased directly from the collector who had acquired part of the warehouse of two South American comic publishers that went bankrupt in 1983 and 1995, Vecchi Editora Brazil (the acetates refer to that edition as the No. 1 acetate sold at auction on this platform not long ago) who were the exclusive distributor of European and American comics (Marvel and DC) in South America.
These are original acetates, artworks used in the printing process of the comics. Since the original artworks could not be sent abroad for production, acetates were instead used to create the metal plates and, as a result, the majority, especially the inner pages, were destroyed due to the high costs of preservation.
In excellent condition, some Silver Nitrate marks (also known as Lunar Caustic – a substance used in acetate printing) due to the years since production do not diminish the beauty of the acetate. I include with frame.
