Visual Artist – Contemporary Image Creator
Multidisciplinary visual artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on sight, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series dedicated to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.
New Series – Private Worlds
In a repetitive facade where every window becomes a world, light reveals fragments of silent lives. Behind each colored square, simple gestures — almost invisible — tell of intimacy, anticipation and isolation. No gaze crosses another, no story intersects. A collection of contemporary solitudes, confined within their own luminous frames. This series was conceived using contemporary visual creation workflows, employing graphic tools and current digital composition techniques.
Career
Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and across Europe. He is also the dedicated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual work, he develops an authorial and musical career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photobook and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
Edition & Manufacturing
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies plus 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in back mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary look.
