Elegant and finely crafted Japanese Go set, Shōwa period, signed Yanagiyama (柳山). The tabletop goban features rich gold-speckled lacquer and refined polychrome floral decoration, with matching lacquered goke and black and white stones. Purchased by my father in Japan in 1975 and preserved in the family ever since. In very good original condition, this complete and visually striking set is a fine example of Japanese decorative craftsmanship and an appealing collector's piece.
