WORK:

This work arises from my relationship with the art world and the path that led me to find a personal mark. That mark was born almost by chance in 2019, on the notepads of orders while I was working at the bar. After leaving it for a while, I picked it up during the lockdown in Barcelona and, over time, it became the most natural way in which I can recognize myself in my work.
In the painting, the large mass recalls the art world, while the small separated nucleus tells how I feel inside it. I am part of it, because the nucleus is composed of the same matter as the mass, but I still cannot feel completely part of that space.
I do not distance myself because I consider myself superior or different from others, but because I struggle to find my place. That distance can mean loneliness and fragility, but it can also become the space I need to understand who I am and build my own voice.
The mark is therefore what binds me to the art world, but also what allows me not to lose myself within it.
BIO:
I am Pietro Fight, Italian visual artist based in Milan. My research revolves around the writing of gesture: an abstract language made of signs, circles, filled and empty spaces that repeat and transform from one work to the next. Through my paintings I try to tell my way of seeing life and my artistic journey, working on the relationship between density and breath, weight and space. Each work is unique and arises from a manual process made of rhythm, repetition and ever-changing variations.
