Description from the seller
Elegant cigarette case of the twentieth century, made in silver fineness 800/1000, featuring a rich hand-engraved decoration across the entire front surface.
The decor presents stylized floral and vegetal motifs, created with dense engraving work that creates interesting contrasts between the polished surfaces and the worked ones.
The interior retains the elastic strap/cigarette holder and shows the normal marks and patina consistent with the age and use of the object.
The piece bears the punch “800,” clearly visible and photographically documented, certifying the silver fineness. There is also a second small figurative punch, apparently in the shape of a goblet/funnel. Not being able to identify it with certainty, it is not attributed to any specific silversmith or manufacture.
Characteristics:
Material: silver 800/1000
Type: cigarette case
Work: decorative engraving
Period attributed: twentieth century
Origin/manufacture: European, not identified
Total weight: about 86 g
Dimensions: about 10 × 8 × 1.2 cm
Punching: 800 + unidentified figurative punch
Conditions: good vintage condition, with patina, small scratches and normal signs of use consistent with age.
Note: geographic attribution and producer are deliberately left generic, as there is not sufficient documentation to identify the second punch with certainty. The photographs of the marks are an integral part of the description.
