Platter - imari - Japanese Imari porcelain

This antique 18th-century Japanese Imari porcelain dish from the Edo period (Arita) is decorated with an asymmetrical floral motif of prunus and bamboo branches with a butterfly, surrounded by a richly decorated, cannelé-edged border full of peonies and chrysanthemums in underglaze cobalt blue, iron red and gold. The exterior shows three minimalist flower stems, and the underside contains an authentic hand-painted blue maker's mark inside the foot ring, together with old inventory marks. The piece measures 20 x 17 x 5.5 cm and is in good antique condition with normal wear to the gold and glaze. At the bottom (see photo) there are small hairline cracks. It weighs 350 grams and is carefully packaged and shipped worldwide with Track & Trace.
