Kininvie is one of Scotland's newest distilleries. Located in Dufftown since 1990, in the heart of Speyside, Kininvie long produced whiskies solely to supply the blends of the William Grant & Sons group. It took over 25 years for the brand's first official bottling to appear on the market. But as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait, and this 23-year-old Kininvie is a fine example. Bottled in small batches, this single malt is a blend of American hogsheads and sherry casks. This Kininvie offers a smooth and subtle palate, with surprising citrus aromas, particularly lemon. Nutmeg and cinnamon, imparted by the whisky's long aging, enhance the tasting experience. Let's hope the distillery doesn't wait another quarter of a century to release its next single malt!
