An universal image is subjected to real pressure. The surface of the canvas is no longer neutral: it is pulled, folded, restrained. The icon loses its stability and becomes matter, body, visible tension.

The clothespins are not just a formal element, but a gesture. They lock the image in an intermediate state, as if it had been paused while trying to expand or escape. The face remains recognizable, but is compressed, forced into a new form that alters its balance.
