Description from the seller
Max Kreijn
The composition consists of simplified forms and a lively use of color, so that the result is not so much a realistic representation as a personal impression of the atmosphere and rhythm of the city. The work reflects Kreijn's fascination with travel and urban cultures.
After several years of studying architecture at the Technical University Eindhoven, Kreyn continued his training in Monumental Art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. He then took lessons under the guidance of, among others, R.B. Kitaj and David Hockney at the Royal College of Art in London. After his studies, he first moved to the island of Ibiza and then to Assisi and Florence, where he devoted himself intensively to painting. For more than forty years the artist lived and worked in various countries, including Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Thailand, Argentina and Australia. This international background and broad artistic formation are reflected in his work, in which architecture, atmosphere and personal experience come together.
Dimensions: 70 x 90 cm
