Description from the seller
Max Kreijn
The composition consists of simplified forms and a vibrant use of color, resulting not so much in a realistic depiction as in a personal impression of the atmosphere and rhythm of the city. The work reflects Kreijn's fascination with travel and urban cultures.
After several years of studying architecture at the Technical University of Eindhoven, Kreijn pursued his training in Monumental Art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Subsequently he took lessons under the guidance of, among others, R.B. Kitaj and David Hockney at the Royal College of Art in London. After his studies, he first moved to the island of Ibiza and then to Assisi and Florence, where he devoted himself intensively to painting. For over forty years the artist lived and worked in various countries, including Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Thailand, Argentina, and Australia. This international background and broad artistic formation are reflected in his work, in which architecture, atmosphere, and personal experience come together.
Dimensions: 104 x 74 cm
Not framed
