Description from the seller
Luca Alinari, Orgia Fantastica, 1996, mixed media (acrylic, oil, graphite, oil pastels) on canvas stretched over wooden panel, 153x50 cm, signature and year at the center, dedicated to a person ('to friend Giacomo - Vaiani Lisi, curator of the exhibition in which it was shown - by Luca), on the back further signature, inscription ('A seguitare') and a drawing made in 2009 on the occasion of Alinari's visit to our Gallery, during which he revisited the work). Supplied with the original frame (slight defects). Exhibitions: Prospettive d'Arte Contemporanea, 2015, Galleria d'Arte Piero Della Francesca, Arezzo (curated by Giacomo Vaiani Lisi). Excellent condition, no serious damage, no restoration, homogeneous patina due to time. Documentation: Authenticity by the artist on photograph, Certificate of Authenticity from Galleria d'Arte Piero Della Francesca (which notes the positive verbal opinion of his son Filippo Alinari), Arezzo (one of Alinari's reference galleries, which organized one of his first solo shows in 1974 and collaborated with the Master until his death), Photocopy of the publication, Photograph of the Artist with Giacomo Vaiani Lisi (curator of the show in which the work was exhibited).
Splendid, unique and unrepeatable work by Luca Alinari, depicting a very particular subject (an orgy, in a fantastical setting that recalls his famous 'fantastic landscapes', hence the title 'fantastic orgy'), dimensions created specifically to be placed above the headboard of a bed, mixed media with stunning colors. A work created by Luca Alinari for the friend and curator of the show in which it was exhibited, Giacomo Vaiani Lisi.
Shipped by courier, professional packing.
Biography:
Luca Alinari (Florence, 1943-2019) was one of the most cultured and refined figures on the Italian contemporary art scene. He had a stunning early breakthrough, thanks to his first works inspired by the poetics of New Dada and Pop Art. In his works from the 1970s, ordinary objects were freely juxtaposed, with intrinsic conceptual and philosophical insinuations. The techniques used were revolutionary, among the most diverse. Fantastical atmospheres took hold in the 1980s and found their definitive culmination with the Fantastic Landscapes. Over his career he exhibited worldwide, participating in international exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadriennale. Galleria d'Arte Piero Della Francesca was among the first galleries to sense Luca's absolute talent and hosted, in 1972, one of his early solo shows. The collaboration with Luca, cemented by fraternal friendship with Giacomo Vaiani Lisi, lasted until his passing. The marvelous works that have made him a master beloved in our time remain as testament to his genius.
