Description from the seller
ORANGE HOUSE IN PERU is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work presents a strongly chromatic architectural scene: an intense orange façade frames an open blue door toward a mountainous landscape, while a dark flowerpot and a planter with flowers introduce a vegetal counterpoint that softens the geometry of the whole. The composition is built with a clear sense of frontal view and balance, making the door the visual axis from which the entire image is articulated.
The palette, based on bright oranges, deep blues, warm reds and shaded greens, naturally alludes to Fauvism and to the tradition of expressive color. The brushwork is visible, loose and direct, with a formal simplification that accentuates the contemporary character of the scene. The relationship between the orange wall, the blue woodwork, and the checkerboard floor generates a very attractive visual vibration, while the light projected onto the pavement adds depth, rhythm and atmosphere.
The painting evokes Latin American popular architecture and the everyday charm of southern spaces, transforming a simple scene into an image of great decorative and pictorial power. It may find affinities with Matisse’s modern colorism or with certain echoes of post-impressionism, always reinterpreted from a personal and contemporary sensibility. For its combination of architecture, landscape, light and color, Orange House in Peru is especially interesting for collectors of contemporary painting, travel scenes, interiors open to the landscape, and works with strong visual presence.
