Nabeshima porcelain dish from the late Edo period (c. 1850–1900), 20.5 cm in diameter and 5.5 cm high, decorated with hibiscus and peony roses and rocks in cobalt blue underglaze, multi‑coloured Nabeshima design, original and in good condition with minor signs of age and a small kintsugi repair on the upper left.

Magnificent Nabeshima plate decorated with hibiscus and peony roses and rocks.
The underglaze is cobalt blue.
During the Edo period the Nabeshima clan owned many kilns. Among other things, they produced porcelain here in the now-known Nabeshima style. This porcelain was not intended for sale, but was used as gifts to shoguns and daimyos. This plate comes from the late Edo period and is a fine example of the quality of Nabeshima porcelain.
The plate is virtually in perfect condition, with a small kintsugi repair at the upper left.
Originally purchased from a porcelain-specialized antique dealer in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The shop's collection sticker is still on the bottom of the plate.
