Artwork description
Where Storms Meet Light presents a calm, monumental space of a lake surrounded by mountain peaks, in which several sailing ships approach the viewer. Above the landscape, the sky is filled with dynamic clouds, light, and contrasts, and the presence of the moon and a distant storm gives the scene extraordinary tension.
Golden sails, reflections on the water, and dispersed light set against cool tones of the sky create an atmosphere suspended between calm and impending change. The movement of the sailing ships toward the foreground gives the composition a sense of approaching presence, while the surrounding landscape remains almost still.
The ships, stormy sky, and the contrast between light and shadow may evoke ideas of travel, return, waiting, or meeting. The work does not impose a single interpretation—it leaves the viewer room to read it through their own experiences, emotions, and associations.
⸻
Technique and materials
The work is executed on high-quality CANVAS cotton canvas, 360 g/m². It was created through an original process combining digital creation, composition, image editing, and work with light, color, and detail.
The creative process also employs AI-based tools as aids in the artistic process, as well as professional tools for digital composition, editing, layering, and post-production.
Digital technologies, including AI, are part of the contemporary artistic toolkit. The final composition results from the artist’s deliberate selection, composition, editing, and multi-step refinement of the image.
The work is sold without a frame or crating.
⸻
Dimensions
Artwork format: 120 × 80 cm or 80 × 120 cm.
The canvas has a 5 cm white border on each side, so the total dimensions are 130 × 90 cm or 90 × 130 cm respectively.
⸻
Authenticity
Original and unique 1/1 work, sold directly by the artist.
A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is included with the work, confirming its authenticity and unique nature.

⸻
Collections
Vale Noctis works are created as original 1/1 pieces and reach private collections of individuals interested in contemporary art and authorial, mood-driven compositions.
The oeuvre covers a range of motifs—from seascapes and sailing ships, through mysterious portals, architecture and monumental spaces, to portraits, figures, and abstract structures. The variety of themes is united by a characteristic atmosphere of light and shadow, golden accents, and space left for individual interpretation.
⸻
About the artist
Vale Noctis creates contemporary, atmospheric paintings where light, space, nature, architecture, and human experience converge in authorial, multi-layered compositions.
His works feature landscapes, the sea, sailing ships, mountains, architecture, portals, geometric forms, faces, figures, and abstract structures. These motifs do not form a closed catalog—the artist’s output remains open to new themes, directions, and ways of building an image.
A distinctive interplay of light and shadow, golden accents, deep tones, reflections, and space gives the works a recognizable atmosphere. A key element of the artist’s practice is the tension between reality and imagination—the balance between what can be recognized and what remains open to individual interpretation.
In the artistic process, contemporary digital tools are employed, including AI as an assisting tool, as well as tools for digital composition, editing, working with layers, color, light, and detail. These technologies form part of the artist’s workshop, enabling the development and precise realization of an original vision while maintaining control over composition, visual direction, and the final character of the work.
