Description from the seller

Rare edition in polished bronze by Walter Valentini titled "Tavole" (Tables), 1985

Walter Valentini (Pergola, October 22, 1928 – Milan, May 20, 2022) was an Italian painter, sculptor and printmaker, recognized internationally.
Valentini's sculptures are predominantly in bronze, partly polished and partly patinated, or columns in refractory terracotta.

In 2004 he created Memoria, a monument dedicated to the fallen of the "Divisione Vicenza", an infantry division that during World War II was sent to the Russian front where it was decimated on January 26, 1943. The work, commissioned and donated to the Municipality of Milan by Lillo Mangano, is installed in Milan in Piazza Sant’Ambrogio.

In 2010 he produced the "Porta del Cielo", a monumental door 3 m x 5 m for the brand-new Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Ca'Staccolo in Urbino, a work in bronze and colored glass that creates distinctive lighting effects inside the temple.
