Cas Oorthuys (1908–1975) was one of the most important Dutch documentary photographers of the twentieth century. His work reflects the social history of the Netherlands: from the workers' struggle and poverty in the thirties, via the resistance and the Hunger Winter during World War II, to the optimistic reconstruction period. After the war his focus shifted from political engagement to humanitarian photography, in which, with a sharp sense of composition, he placed daily life and people at the center. His photographs today belong to the collections of, among others, the Rijksmuseum, Fotomuseum Rotterdam and Kunstmuseum Den Haag.

Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Where necessary we use extra protective materials, robust bespoke packaging and professional transport solutions, so that your purchase arrives safely and in optimal condition.
