Technique: Copperplate etching with aquatint and embossing
Artist: Brenda Hartill (b. 1943)
Title: “EARTH”
Signed and numbered: Artist's Proof (A.P.) / Hand-signed in pencil
Overall size: 42.0 × 52.0 cm (Including frame)
Image size: 21.0 × 23.5 cm
Condition: Minor marks and light wear on the frame corners; age-related toning on the back panel.
Provenance: Art Front Gallery (Tokyo) label on the reverse
Description:
A partridge depicted with intricate feather patterns stands against a soft background in this etching framed by an embossed arched border. The central bird is rendered in earth tones of brown, terracotta, and subtle green, surrounded by textured ground and a blind-embossed arch pressed into the paper. Pencil inscriptions below the image read "A/P" at the lower left, "Earth" at the center, and "Brenda Hartill" at the lower right. The work is presented in a glazed frame with gold and dark green inner borders, with a gallery label from Art Front Gallery (Daikanyama, Tokyo) attached to the rear wooden backboard.
Condition:
Minor marks and light wear on the frame corners with age-related toning on the back panel. The outer box shows surface wear and scratches.
