The first fountain pen is The Croxley Pen, manufactured in the United Kingdom by the paper company John Dickinson & Co..-Period: Late 1940s and early 1950s. Historical detail: Dickinson commercially introduced the Croxley line of pens in the United Kingdom around 1947-1948, ceasing main production shortly after, in the mid-20th century. The striking pattern of marbled celluloid in black, gold, and bronze tones (often commercially catalogued as Brown/Gold Marble). Its nib is 14 kt; the pen measures 12.5 cm and weighs 17 grams when closed. The following is a vintage Waterman's fountain pen, model W5 from 1948. The design is characterized by a pattern of gray and black stripes, known as "arey striated". • It features a gold-plated clip and details, and the brand "WATERMAN'S" engraved on the clip.
