Description from the seller
Helge Roed: Energy of Silence, 1978 — one screenprint from the portfolio
One colour screenprint (serigraph) from the portfolio Energy of Silence, published and hand-printed by Edition Partanen in Brenden, West Germany, 1978. The composition builds a near-symmetrical field of five vertical bands — red, white, deep blue, white, red — and then breaks that symmetry: a saturated red square displaces the lower right quadrant, cutting the fourth band short and tipping the balance of the plane. The result is a reductive, hard-edge composition in the Constructive tradition, where a single shifted element sets the otherwise static field in motion — the "energy" disturbing the "silence" of the title.
The portfolio was issued in an edition of 60, with five artist's proofs. This impression is numbered 15/60. Each sheet in the series measures 45 × 45 cm at the image and is individually signed and numbered by the artist. Hand-signed and dated in pencil lower right ("Helge Roed 78"); numbered in pencil lower left.
