Description from the seller
An elegant 1970s Italian Space Age modernist desk box/humidor attributed to designer Giacomo Sinopoli for Liwan's Rome, Italy.
This premium executive accessory features a distinctive multi-tiered geometric lid executing a beautiful stylistic contrast between brilliant mirror-polished chrome and a soft, satin brushed steel inner step. The base of the box highlights high-end metalsmithing with a highly reflective engine-turned circular swirl (perlé) pattern, designed to mask abrasions and ground the piece.
Unlike the common glass-lined variants, this specific execution features a pristine dual-compartment solid hardwood lining (cedar/mahogany) functions beautifully as a cigar humidor, watch safe, jewelry chest, or desk valet.
Condition Report:
Excellent vintage condition with a stellar, clean mirror finish on the chrome. The internal wooden compartments are completely clean and odor-free. The heavy-duty brass hinges function smoothly. Lid does not stay open by itself, which is correct. Light, age-appropriate hairline surface wear is present on the metal surfaces upon close inspection, consistent with careful preservation. No deep pitting or rust.
Weight: 1080 grams (Solid, heavy construction)
