Montblanc StarWalker Black Mystery fountain pen, Germany origin, from the Fine XX century, with a precious resin body and platinum plating, 12 cm long and 1.2 cm in diameter, cartridge-filler, 14k gold nib with rhodium finish, cap shows cosmetic damage but writing is fully functional.
Description from the seller
In this presentation we offer a specimen of irresistibly modern and technological charm, belonging to one of the most iconic and bold collections from the Hamburg house: the Montblanc StarWalker Black Mystery Fountain Pen.
The design of this writing instrument breaks with classic norms thanks to an innovative surface. The body is adorned with an intricate geometric pattern laser-engraved, which creates a play of lines and rectangles with strong visual and tactile impact. This contemporary craftsmanship is enhanced by the contrast with platinum-plated, mirror-polished finishes on the distinctive aerofoil-shaped clip and on the smooth grip section. To seal the StarWalker line’s identity, we find the famous transparent dome at the top, inside which the Montblanc white star emblem magically floats.
The beating heart of this fountain pen is its excellent writing assembly: by unscrewing the cap, a beautiful 14-carat solid gold nib (Au585) is revealed. To maintain perfect color harmony with the pen’s finishes, the nib has undergone rhodium plating that gives it an elegant silvery tone, and it is finely engraved with the Montblanc logo. The filling system is cartridge-based.
Regarding its condition, the item is in generally good condition but requires an important cosmetic clarification. The body, the grip, and the precious 14K gold nib are in excellent condition and perfectly ready for use. However, as documented with complete transparency in the last three detail photographs, the cap has a defect. There is a damage/chipping visible in the black resin positioned laterally, right near the cap-clip attachment. This defect is purely aesthetic and does not in any way compromise the cap’s screw closure or the pen’s perfect writing mechanical function.
