Salomon "Sal" Meijer (Amsterdam, 6 December 1877 - Blaricum, 1 February 1965) was a Dutch painter, best known for his paintings and etchings of cats and Amsterdam canals and streets. Meijer’s work can be viewed in, among others, the Jewish Historical Museum and the Cat Cabinet in Amsterdam. In 1958 the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam held an overview exhibition of his work. After his death in 1965, a memorial exhibition was held at Slot Zeist. In 2007 a show of never-before-seen drawings and oil paintings by Sal Meijer and Melle Oldeboerrigter took place at the Amsterdam artists’ society Arti et Amicitiae. In 2012-2013, at the Jewish Historical Museum, a retrospective of his work was held.
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition we have our own in-house framing shop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary.
