With this square-format work, Medsan brings the Colossal Titan from Attack on Titan (進撃の巨人, Hajime Isayama) into the blue-and-white porcelain grammar. The flayed giant appears behind the Maria Wall, jaw exposed, while the Survey Corps soldiers race in three-dimensional gear along the ramparts and over the roofs of the district. The whole setting is treated in cobalt, following the tradition of Arita and Delft ceramics, down to the steam swirls escaping from its neck and curling into spirals of clouds.

The rendering borrows entirely from the ceramic object: white glaze traversed by a fine network of crackles, tight hatching shaping the muscle as if brushed with cobalt, specks of wear and the sheen of the enamel. A star-shaped crack runs across the surface and is highlighted by the kintsugi stitches, these lacquer-like seams tracing the forehead, the cheek, and the line of the walls. The palette stays within three notes: cobalt blue, glaze white, and a red iron close to aka-e reserved for the mouth and gums, the only warm spot in the composition.

The gesture makes sense: kintsugi does not hide the break; it proclaims it and magnifies it. Here, the one who opens the walls is itself fractured and then sewn back, and the repair becomes the true image of the story — surviving while keeping the visible trace of what yielded. The golden lines follow the ramparts, as if the object and the world it depicts broke together.
