Description from the seller
"Full Moon" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work presents a nocturnal sea-front scene in which a female figure, seated with her back and slightly in profile, contemplates a huge full moon suspended above the horizon.
The composition is dominated by an intense range of blues, from turquoise and sky tones of the sky to deep, almost black blues of the figure and the foreground. In front of them, the large lunar disk introduces a warm, serene luminosity that extends across the water through white, cream, and soft pinkish hues in reflections.
The visible, expressive brushwork simplifies shapes and places special emphasis on color and light. The female silhouette functions as a large dark mass that contrasts with the moon’s clarity, creating a visually striking image. The scene blends elements of contemporary figurative painting with a sensibility close to expressionism and fauvism, where the landscape becomes a vehicle for emotion.
In "Full Moon", Ernest García builds a silent, contemplative atmosphere. The almost unreal scale of the moon lends the scene a poetic and slightly dreamlike character, while the woman facing the sea introduces a sense of intimacy, solitude, and connection with nature.
"Full Moon" will be especially appealing to collectors interested in contemporary figurative painting, seascapes, night scenes, female figures, expressionism, fauvism, poetic painting, and compositions in which light and color take on a strong emotional protagonism.
