E. García's 100 × 70 cm acrylic painting Flores amarillas XL, an original edition signed by hand, from Spain and dated 2026, depicting yellow flowers in a Fauvist floral still life.
Description from the seller
"Yellow Flowers" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work presents a lush bouquet of flowers arranged in a simple vase, building a still life with a strong graphic presence and a pronounced chromatic protagonism.
Big yellow flowers, sunflowers and small white daisies intertwine with abundant deep green vegetation. The petals open in different directions and some flowers appear tilted or partly withered, adding movement and naturalness to a deliberately abundant composition. The vase, rendered in cream and ocher tones, acts as a serene base against the vitality of the bouquet.
The palette is dominated by golden yellows, greens, whites and reddish centers, intensified by the mustard ochre background. The dark outlines delineate leaves and petals and reinforce the expressive character of the shapes. This simplification of nature and the autonomous use of color connect the painting with Fauvism and with the modern tradition of the floral still life, evoking the chromatic freedom of Henri Matisse and the intensity of Vincent van Gogh’s famous sunflowers without abandoning a contemporary language of its own.
Visible brushwork and small tonal variations in the background and the vase preserve the painting’s materiality, while the firm drawing organizes the whole and creates an interesting balance between spontaneity and structure.
"Yellow Flowers" is a luminous and vital work, especially attractive to collectors interested in still life, floral painting, sunflowers, yellow flowers, Fauvism, expressive color, nature, and contemporary figurative painting.
