Description from the seller
"With a View of the Mountain" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work portrays a Mediterranean interior open to the landscape, where architecture, furniture, vegetation, and nature are articulated through an intense combination of color and light.
In the foreground, a red sofa occupies one end of the composition and contrasts with the ultramarine blue walls. A large opening framed in yellows and oranges visually leads to a terrace and, beyond, to the sea and the bluish silhouette of a mountain on the horizon. The perspective turns this opening into an authentic painting within the painting.
A lush bougainvillea with red flowers crosses the upper zone and extends to the exterior, introducing movement and deliberately breaking the geometry of the architecture. The floor, built with blue, white, and orange tiles, reflects the entry of light and guides the gaze from the interior to the balcony.
The palette of deep blues, reds, yellows, and oranges links the work to Fauvist tradition and to Mediterranean painting by Henri Matisse and Raoul Dufy, where windows and balconies function as spaces of transition between intimacy and landscape. The visible brushwork and expressive use of color convey spontaneity and an intense sense of luminosity.
"With a View of the Mountain" conveys the relaxed atmosphere of a home by the Mediterranean and is especially attractive to collectors interested in seascapes, interiors, balconies, Mediterranean architecture, bougainvillea, Fauvism, expressive color, and contemporary figurative painting.
