Biography:

Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the journey of a polymath artist whose creativity has expanded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a draftsman, Kobalt discovers very early his first passion, music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his early talents lead him to make a bold decision: to invest the money intended to fund his higher education in creating his first album.

Distributed by EMI, the album did not meet expectations of success, but it marked the beginning of a rich artistic career full of experimentation.

Parallel to his musical career, Kobalt enters the world of advertising as a copywriter/concept creator for the iconic Playboy magazine. For many years, he brings his creativity to the publication by creating and producing the magazine’s advertising campaigns.

The turning point in his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cameraman, thus exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photo agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Kobalt makes a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who became a major figure in the global street art scene. A pioneer of computer-assisted creative art, Kobalt stands out with more than 3000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

His artistic approach is characterized by bold use of humor, provocation, and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for reappropriating magazine covers—a style that makes him instantly recognizable.

Despite the digital era, Kobalt has chosen to stay on the margins of social networks, thereby preserving a certain privacy. Today, he uses all available digital tools to bring his creations to life, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression with a subtle blend of inspiration, innovation, and humor.
