Description from the seller
"Green chair with fruits" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work transforms a simple iron chair into the stage of a still life full of color, placing on the seat a ceramic bowl decorated with figs and pears, accompanied by a blue-and-white striped cloth.
The chair, with its curved and ornamental back, vertically structures the composition and lends a marked graphic character. Above it, the bowl concentrates the figurative detail: the greens of the pears, the deep purples of the figs, and the cobalt blue of the ceramic create a small chromatic nucleus that contrasts with the background.
A special prominence is given to the wall, built with large organic shapes in coral, olive green, and cream. These flat stains turn the space into an almost abstract surface and establish a dialogue between figuration and decoration. The violet floor and the intense blue shadow of the chair complete a palette deliberately far from naturalistic color.
The work connects with Henri Matisse’s Fauvist tradition through its chromatic freedom, the simplification of forms, and the incorporation of the decorative motif as an essential part of the composition. The visible brushwork and the dark outlines reinforce its painterly and contemporary character.
"Green chair with fruits" turns everyday objects into a composition of great visual personality, where still life, furniture, and abstract pattern operate as a single image. An appealing work for collectors interested in Fauvism, contemporary still life, interiors, ceramics, fruit, and expressive color figurative painting.
