David Law presents Al Pacino (Stencil), a 40 x 40 cm mixed media artwork from the limited edition of 8, signed on the plate and numbered 1/8, produced in France in 2026 with a Culture Pop theme.
Description from the seller
Multidisciplinary photographer, artist, author, and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence, and the perception of the image in urban space. He first rose to prominence with a series devoted to shop-window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later intrigued by the distinctive aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate subjects acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection.
New series – Walls of legends
This series pays homage to iconic figures who have marked history, music, cinema, and popular culture. Each portrait, pared down to essentials, captures in a few strong contrasts an instantly recognizable identity. Realized with contemporary digital tools and then transposed into a stencil aesthetic, the works sit within the street art tradition, balancing spontaneity and mastery of gesture. Deep blacks and raw surfaces evoke direct wall intervention, while imperfections and textures reinforce their urban character. Between collective memory and visual expression, this series offers a timeless reading of icons who continue to inhabit our imagination.
Edition & Production
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies plus 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability, and a modern, contemporary look.
Career
Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual work, he develops authorial and musical projects including three novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book, and five self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
