Cartier - Oval - Pocket lighter - Gold-plated (Plaqué Or G)

The fine wave-pattern engraving over the gold-tone body is the first thing that caught my eye. There’s some honest wear, but the texture still looks crisp and lively in the light. This kind of decorative Cartier finish, especially with its pouch, tends to stand out nicely at auction.

[Appearance]

This Cartier lighter has a slim rectangular body with softly rounded edges and a detailed gold-tone engine-turned finish.

The repeating wave pattern is especially nice here. It changes subtly with the angle of the light and gives the lighter a much richer texture than a plain polished surface. This is the sort of finish I always enjoy seeing on an older lighter.

The base is marked “Cartier PARIS,” “PLAQUE OR G,”

There are visible scratches, small marks, rubbing, and wear around the edges and base from age and previous handling. Some scratches are also visible around the base markings. On the positive side, the decorative pattern remains well defined overall and the wear gives the piece a natural vintage character without taking away from its strong visual appeal.
