The silver-tone body with its tiny repeating wave texture really caught my eye. There’s honest wear and a little finish loss along the edges, but the pattern still looks wonderfully crisp. The cooler silver look plus the “les must de Cartier” box gives this one plenty of auction appeal.
[Appearance]
This Cartier lighter has a slim rectangular body covered with a very fine repeating wave pattern. The silver-tone finish gives it a cooler, more understated look than the usual gold-tone examples, and the texture changes nicely as the light moves across it. I always like this kind of detail on a lighter—it gives you something to appreciate up close.
The base is marked “Cartier PARIS,” with serial number “23336 A” and a hallmark-style stamp also visible.
There are scratches, small marks, rubbing, and wear from age and previous use, particularly around the base and edges. Some areas along the edges show finish loss with a warmer metal tone visible underneath. On the positive side, the fine decorative pattern remains clearly defined overall and still gives the lighter a very attractive vintage texture.
