Marcel Wanders - Sculpture, Randstad Bike - 8 cm - Bamboo - 2021

Since 2018, Marcel Wanders has annually collaborated with Randstad to design a unique bicycle for the company's worldwide employees. This design is a special keepsake that honors the company's commitment to inclusion and equality of opportunity. The Randstad bicycle celebrates not only the workforce's uniqueness and diversity but also creates a symbol of connection and tradition. Year after year, Randstad employees receive a unique bicycle, each crafted with new materials and a fresh design concept, forming over time a symbol-rich collection. The bicycle also holds special meaning: for every bicycle gifted to employees, Randstad donates to the organization World Bicycle Relief in the name of its workforce. Each year the bicycle is presented in a new light—carefully crafted and designed in line with Randstad’s core values. The annual Randstad bicycle is delivered in a unique packaging made from innovative materials, complemented by a project brochure developed by our graphic design department. The Randstad bicycle introduced in 2021 was carefully crafted from PET felt, a sustainable material made from recycled plastic bottles. The design of this bicycle stands for equity. The purple and blue shades symbolize the values of “Openness” as well as “Listen and Amplify” – two deeply rooted principles within the company. The 2021 edition marks the start of a three-part series that will eventually cover the entire spectrum of the rainbow and represent the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
