Description from the seller
Oil painting on board
Dimensions 90 x 70 cm
Olav Vorsel (1922–2007) was a Dutch artist who, later in life, dedicated himself entirely to painting, after a career as director at the publishing house Van Ditmar. From the age of 47 he developed an impressive and versatile body of work of more than a thousand pieces. His style ranges from expressive, thickly painted canvases to clean geometric abstractions. Themes such as social engagement, existential questions and inner experience run as a common thread through his work. Vorsel was inspired by personal experiences, his youth and a strong analytical mind.
Viewing is of course possible. In addition, we have our own in-house frame shop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to take advantage of this, we would of course be glad to hear from you.
