Description from the seller
Artistic vision and emotional impact. Capture an absolute monument of contemporary cinepop iconography with this magnificent original graphic masterpiece by the world-renowned maestro Mimmo Rotella (1918-2006). Globally celebrated for being a pioneer of the historical décollage movement and present in major institutions (including MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris), Rotella dedicates this extraordinary 2003 composition to the magnetic, timeless gaze of Oscar-winning actress Penélope Cruz, reinterpreting her legendary Vanity Fair cover. The composition is brilliant: the startling and sensual portrait of the actress dynamically dialogues with the violent and poetic tears of the surrounding paper layers (seridrocollage). The sharp white and silver tears reveal a dense urban archaeology on multiple levels, while the iconic red typography of the magazine title stands out as a powerful visual anchor. Hand-signed in graphite by the maestro himself and numbered from an elite, extremely limited edition, this certified high-value graphic is presented in a contemporary, clean studio frame, serving as a prized centerpiece for luxury lofts, private galleries, or prestigious modern art collections. Technical features and conservation status Artist: Mimmo Rotella (Catanzaro, 1918 - Milan, 2006). Title: Vanity Fair (Penélope Cruz), Year 2003.
