Splendid Weekly Collection of Antique Pipes + Vintage Wooden Display with Drawer
I am putting up for sale a refined collection of 8 antique pipes, historic and collectible, including iconic brands from Italian and international craftsmanship. The lot also includes a rarish and elegant weekly pipe-display stand in solid wood, ideal for collectors or fans of slow smoking.
THE WEEKLY DISPLAY: A valuable antique desk display in solid wood with 7 dedicated slots. Each position is marked by metal plaques bearing the initials of the days of the week in Italian (L, M, M, G, V, S, D), a system historically designed to ensure proper resting of the briar. Complete with a practical lower drawer for accessories (pipe cleaners, bristle pipes, filters). Solid and intact structure with a beautiful patina of age.
LIST AND DETAILS OF PIPES INCLUDED IN THE LOT:
Ural (Sea Foam / Meerschaum): A high-class Turkish hand-carved pipe with floral/geometric motifs. Exceptional condition (unsmoked / never smoked), complete with original rigid case and golden authenticity seal "Deniz Ural". Yellow mouthpiece and intact screw pin.
Mastro de Paja - Natura Stem: Splendid Bent smooth model from the famous Pesaro artisanal manufactory. Clear hallmarks and the iconic three wavy lines logo on the mouthpiece.
Mastro de Paja - Bent Dublin Rusticata: Deep hand-worked rustic finish with a smooth contrasting rim. Large presence and high-quality briar.
Mastro de Paja - Billiard/Egg Liscia: Classic model with natural grain of briar visible. Stamped on the shank.
Peterson of Dublin - System Smooth: Historic Irish brand. It carries the famous mouthpiece with the patented P-Lip system facing upward for a cool smoke.
Savinelli - 311 KS (King Size): Sitter/Cherrywood shape with a brown matte/speckled finish. The flat base allows the pipe to rest on the table on its own. Legible numerical stamp.
Brebbia - Linea "Sino": Classic and elegant smooth Billiard shape produced in Varese. Diamond-shaped logo on the mouthpiece.
Molina - Olivo: A distinctive and esthetically pleasing curved pipe in natural olive wood, characterized by typical striped and light grain. Stamped "Olivo" on the shank.
Real Briar (Bonus): Vintage straight briar billiard pipe with dark finish.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
Except for the Ural sea-foam pipe, which is new and never smoked, the other pipes are used/estate pieces. They show the usual signs of time and use, including the classic natural superficial oxidation on vulcanite bits, easily removable with restoration products specific to pipe care. The briar bodies are solid, with no cracks or structural defects.
