David Law
Photographer– Creator of contemporary images
Multidisciplinary photographer, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.

With this series, David Law delves into stripped-down, dark universes, inhabited by phantom silhouettes suspended. These indistinct, almost erased presences wander through strange landscapes where emptiness becomes material. Through a visual language built with contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notions of isolation, trace and memory. A silent crossing, at the borders of the visible and the invisible.
Edition & Production
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies plus 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated back mount. Printed on bright white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with a soft UV- and humidity-resistant laminate, ensuring excellent durability, long-term stability of colors, and a modern, contemporary look.

Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe.
