Mikimoto ballpoint pen with a cultured Akoya pearl on the cap, silvered grooved body with gold‑finish accents, complete with the original blue Mikimoto box, outer box and accompanying card, dating from 2000–2010, in excellent condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
Title
Mikimoto — Ballpoint pen adorned with an Akoya cultured pearl — Gadrooned body, gold attributes — Original case, outer box and original card.
Description
Ballpoint pen from Mikimoto, founded in 1893 by Kōkichi Mikimoto, inventor of the cultured pearl and one of the most esteemed names in Japanese jewelry.
The piece repeats the gesture that made the house: a cultured pearl set on the top of the cap, crowning the instrument. It is Mikimoto’s signature, applied here to a writing instrument rather than a jewel.
Silver-toned metal body with gadrooned decoration, fine regular vertical grooves running the full height
Cultured pearl set on top, with intact luster, no pit or nacre flake
Gold-finish features: central ring engraved with the Mikimoto name, clip, ends
Rotating mechanism, functional.
Compatible refill: SK-8 Mitsubishi Pencil or A.T. Cross format, as indicated on the accompanying card.
Complete and preserved set: Mikimoto original navy-blue box, with outer box and accompanying House card. Completeness is rare for these pieces, often separated from their original presentation over generations.
Condition: very good. Body without noticeable scratches, pearl intact, gold finishes solid. Refill to be replaced.
Careful shipping in reinforced packaging, with tracking."}
