Japanese two-panel folding screen from the Showa period, featuring an embroidered crane design in Nishijin textile with gold-thread details.

The central scene depicts a group of cranes flying across a landscape of clouds and distant mountains. The cranes are embroidered in white, light blue, red, dark blue and green, with extensive gold-thread detailing outlining the wings, feathers and decorative patterns. The combination of flying cranes and gold-toned landscape forms a traditional Japanese decorative composition.

The textile panel is mounted within a green patterned fabric border and finished with a black lacquered wooden frame with iron corner fittings.
