Description from the seller

Aurélia by Off Axis – XL on canvas

Grace appears sometimes in the moment just before movement.

In Aurélia, a ballerina wearing a white dress seems suspended in deep darkness. Her body turns slightly away, her face lowers with gentleness, while the fabrics of her outfit open around her as if they had been caught in mid-motion.

The light caresses her back, her shoulders and the folds of the fabric, bringing forth the silhouette against a nearly black background. The satin pointe shoes prolong this fragile verticality and give the scene a sense of weightlessness.

Aurélia celebrates the silent beauty of ballet: mastery behind lightness, discipline behind elegance and that almost invisible instant where the body seems to forget gravity.

Between classical painting and contemporary sensibility, this work offers an intimate, luminous and deeply feminine portrait.

Details of the work :

• Title : Aurélia
• Format : XL – 46 × 66 cm
• Additional white border of 3 cm included
• Edition : Limited edition – copy 1/6
• Technique : Advanced mixed technique (visual composition, digital textures and manual retouching)
• Authenticity : Certificate provided exclusively by email

Artistic and technical approach :

The composition rests on a particularly marked contrast between the depth of the dark background and the ivory tones of the dress.

The ballerina is depicted three-quarters back, a choice that highlights the line of the shoulders, the curve of the back and the delicacy of the posture while keeping some mystery.

The pictorial treatment of the dress gives the fabric an almost living presence. The light touches and variations in texture suggest movement without ever freezing it completely, while the golden tips provide a subtle punctuation at the bottom of the composition.

Each detail contributes to a deliberately timeless aesthetic, halfway between academic portrait, Romantic painting and contemporary creation.

Presentation and delivery :

• Premium canvas print
• Work sold without frame or stretcher
• Secure shipping in a rigid tube
• Certificate of authenticity sent by email
