AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautifully naïve painting 'Risques à Deux' by André Teleki – Oil on canvas, Switzerland, 1973

Teleki belongs to the generation of post-war Swiss artists who combined form and color in a particularly personal way. His paintings are figurative, colorful, and ardently warm in tone, with much attention to human figures and poetic scenes. The works radiate optimism, humanity, and lyricism.
Thanks to his many exhibitions and presence in Swiss museum collections, including the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire in Geneva, and his regular strong sales at Swiss auctions, Teleki enjoys a loyal collector’s market. For the city of Geneva he also created a monumental 125 m² mural.

This work, entitled "Risques à Deux" is a wonderful example of Teleki’s naive art, full of life and color.

An animated scene in a park, perhaps Paris: in the middle, an acrobatic couple of tightrope walkers playfully float in the air, as the title suggests. The woman wears a light pink dress and is carried by a clownish man in a bright orange sweater and striped trousers. They balance a large, decorated pink parasol. In the background we see the characteristic Parisian rooftops against an orange sky with a bright yellow sun. In the park there are also two figures at play.

The painting is in excellent condition and is framed in a beautiful classic gold frame with a dark wood inner border.

Dimensions incl. frame: H 74.5 x W 85.5
Dimensions without frame: H 52.5 x W 63

The work is signed by the artist bottom left in red “teleki” and titled on the back "Risques à Deux, a. teleki, 1973”.

Truly a unique, valuable, and powerful naïve artwork with a magnifique and signature rendering of André Teleki’s sparkling world, perfectly suited to any classic, design, or eclectic interior!

IMPORTANT: Given the value, size and/or fragility, this artwork must be collected!
