The Macallan Rare Cask 2021
The whisky is presented at 43% ABV in a rather lovely decanter. Sherried
Macallan is always a winner, and this expression is wonderfully complex.
Nose: The aroma is rich and complex, offering a symphony of dried fruits, notably raisins, sultanas, and figs. Layers of spicy ginger and cinnamon intermingle with hints of vanilla and caramel, accompanied by oak and subtle notes of dark chocolate.
Taste: On the palate, this whisky presents a harmonious blend of flavors. The sweetness of ripe fruits, including oranges, red berries, and dates, unfolds gracefully. A luxurious mouthfeel accentuates the palate, revealing deep oakiness and a touch of nuttiness, complemented by a subtle influence of sherry.
Finish: The finish is long-lasting and indulgent. The oak lingers alongside gentle spices, leaving a warm, velvety sensation. Delicate notes of citrus and a lingering sweetness round off the tasting experience, inviting another sip.
