DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK:
Signing is a piece belonging to the series The Signature, where Lídia Vives delves into the relationship between identity, vulnerability, and self-defense. Through the self-portrait, the artist poses a reflection on the armors we adopt throughout life — not always physical, but equally heavy.
The work has been intervened with a digital drawing elaborated by the author herself, in which a baroque armor inspired by vegetal motifs is overlaid on her body. This symbolic element coexists with cobalt blue floral tattoos and a small red heart under the eye, elements that dialogue between the ornamental and the emotional.
