The work represents a half-bust of a full female figure seen from the back, painted on a collage of antique postcards and other scraps, such as sheet music or maps, which become an integral part of the composition. The technique used fosters dialogue between image and memory, transforming the support into a visual archive of stories and impressions. The figure emerges with delicacy thanks to a sepia and natural earth palette, while the gathered hairstyle and the pose confer a sense of intimacy and suspension. The only postcard visible from the illustration side shows an illustration of the Matterhorn. The balance between contemporary figuration and vintage materials, between classic and modern, is the result of a research that unites figuration and memory, intended for those who know how to appreciate not only the image but the value of detail and stratification.

(The work is set in a handmade frame crafted by the artist, not professional, which mainly serves as protection and can be easily removed if the work is to be framed by a framer. In case of purchase, after payment it is possible to add insurance to the shipment, at an additional cost of 3% of the sale price.)

BRIEF BIO
I have always drawn, since I was a child. I approached painting in 2004, self-taught. In the early years I experimented with various techniques and themes. The female figure has always been present in my painterly research, even though over the years I have worked on other series of works, especially urban landscapes and scenes of anonymous crowds or individuals.
In 2015 I approached antique postal material as a support for my works: letters, postcards, maps, letters and manuscripts, and women returned to be the exclusive protagonist of my painting.
For many years I have collaborated with numerous galleries, exhibited in solo and group shows and regularly participate in art fairs. Since 2014 I have had a painting studio in Rome, in Trastevere.
In 2021, following the Covid period, I conceived Marginalia, a home-made residency project in which I was hosted in a different house in each region of Italy, creating a painting in each residence. All the produced material was then exhibited in Milan in November 2023 in a large solo show at the Fondazione Matalon and in Rome in 2025 at WeGil.
