Description from the seller

Sales description

Rare original lithograph by Antoni Clave titled Trobadors, created in 1970. This work belongs to the artist’s most sought-after period, marked by a powerful visual language blending abstraction, materiality and graphic signs drawn from his theatrical and Mediterranean universe.

In Trobadors, Clavé develops a dense and poetic composition where fragmented forms, dark textures and graphic rhythms evoke ancient figures, armors or vestiges of a buried memory. Here we find the full expressive force of his lithographic work: a subtle balance between plastic construction and gestural spontaneity.

The work testifies to Clavé's exceptional mastery in printmaking, a medium to which he devoted a significant part of his career. His lithographs from the 1970s are today particularly appreciated for their rich materiality and almost pictorial dimension.
