About the artist

A major figure of 20th-century Spanish art, Antoni Clavé developed a singular body of work spanning painting, collage, sculpture and printmaking. Based in Paris after the Spanish Civil War, close to Pablo Picasso, he created a deeply personal universe where materials, signs and traces become poetic language. His graphic work is today widely recognized on the international art market.
